Avoid Strife

Monday, July 28, 2008

Today's Scripture

“ It is an honor for a man to cease from strife ” (Proverbs 20:3)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Strife is a very destructive force. It can creep into relationships by starting small, maybe through a comment or a wrong look from someone, and can then escalate into something much bigger. But when you choose to cease from strife and overlook an offense, you are acting honorably, and you are honoring God.

How do you avoid strife? The Bible tells us that love covers over many offenses. It means that you give people the benefit of the doubt. You consider what they may be going through over how they reacted to you. Maybe someone was short with you at the office, but they may have a loved one in the hospital, or they may have some other concern. Instead of getting upset, walk in love—be patient, be kind to them.

Choose to avoid strife. Look for ways to walk in unity with the people in your life. The Bible says that He has commanded the blessing when we walk and live in unity. Choose unity today and watch the hand of the Lord move mightily on your behalf!

A Prayer for Today

Father God, today I choose Your ways. I invite Your plan to unfold in my life. Help me to avoid strife so I can walk in peace and unity and honor you all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Give Cheerfully!

Sunday, July 27, 2008

Today's Scripture

“Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (II Corinthians 9:7)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God has set up a system to bless and prosper you; it’s the system of sowing and reaping. When you give, God promises that blessings will come back to you in greater measure. Just like sowing a seed in the ground produces an abundant harvest, when you sow financially, you will reap a harvest of blessing in your life in return.

Notice in the verse that God is concerned more about how we give than what we give. He loves it when you give with a cheerful heart because that shows that you are trusting in His promises. It shows that you love Him and love following His commands. When you understand that God wants to bless you, you can’t help but give with a cheerful heart!

Meditate on His wonderful blessings today and allow that joyful attitude to rise up in your heart. Be a cheerful giver and expect His increase and blessing in every area of your life.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, today I come before You giving You all that I am. I choose to be a cheerful giver because I love You. Help me to honor You in everything I say and do. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Power of Peace!

Saturday, July 26, 2008

Today's Scripture

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

No matter what may be going on all around you today, you can still live in peace. The scripture encourages us to not let our hearts be troubled. In other words, don’t meditate on all the negative things in this world to the point that it steals your peace.

If you have fear, worry or anxiety about anything, recognize that those feelings aren’t from God because He has promised to give you a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. There is tremendous power in peace. When you are at peace internally, you can think more clearly. You can hear the voice of God more easily. You’ll make better decisions. Even your physical body responds to peace.

The enemy knows this, and his goal is to steal your peace. He tries to set you up to get upset. But when you choose to receive God’s peace, then no weapon formed against you shall prosper. You can live in peace, you can live in joy, and you can live the abundant life God has for you.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of peace in my life. I choose to receive Your peace in my heart and hold it close to me always. I receive Your Word as truth and life to my soul. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God Will Deliver You...

Today's Scripture

“Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Are you facing trouble in any area of your life today? God is standing ready to deliver you. He promises in His Word that He is near to all those who call upon His name. No matter what you may be going through, have confidence knowing that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He promises to deliver you!

Notice that this verse tells us that our part is to honor and glorify Him. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to give Him praise. You can give Him honor and glory right now. You can thank Him for all He’s done in your life so far, and what He will do in your future. Call on Him today and focus on having an attitude of faith and expectancy.

Speak His Word and declare His promises over your life, knowing that He promises to deliver you. Trust in Him because He will take you places you’ve never dreamed. As you praise Him, He’ll take you higher and higher into the life of victory He has in store for you!

What's Chasing You?

Today's Scripture

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

In the Bible, David was known as a man after God’s own heart. What kind of attitude did he have? Here in Psalm 23 he says, “Goodness and mercy are following me.” David lived with an attitude of expectancy.

One translation says, “God’s kindness chases me everywhere that I go.” David’s attitude was, “Something good is going to happen to me. Everywhere I go, I know God’s blessings are chasing me. Favor is following me around.” No wonder he saw God’s goodness! No wonder he overcame his obstacles and accomplished great dreams. He knew good things were chasing after him.

Do you know what’s chasing you right now? Not debt. Not failure. Not mediocrity. Not defeat. Not lack. Not at all! You are a child of the Most High God. You have been crowned with favor. You have been redeemed from every curse. God has set you apart as His own special treasure. When you look back in your rear view mirror, you’d better get ready because you have a tailgater!

There’s something coming toward you at a high rate of speed. You know what it is? Blessings, favor, supernatural opportunities, restoration, divine connections—God’s goodness and mercy following you all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, I love You so much. Thank You for Your abundant grace and mercy. Today I choose to look for Your goodness. I receive Your favor and blessings. Let everything I say and do bring honor to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Living In The Rain of God's Favor

By: Joel Osteen

God longs for us to be like a well watered garden, flourishing, full of joy, always in blossom. Yet many times, due to situations that are happening in our lives, we don’t necessarily feel like we are in full blossom, rather we feel like we’re in a dry spell. When this happens, instead of giving up and accepting your present circumstance as your lot in life, decide to praise God more than you ever have.

In the Bible, the psalmist said, “I will keep on hoping for You to help me. I will praise You more and more.” When we decide to give God praise, something powerful and supernatural happens. Peace, joy and divine favor begin to rain down over our lives.

By praising God at all times, what happens in the natural with rain, will be the same spiritually over your lives; a cloud can only hold so much condensation, so many vapors, before it releases.

In the same way, when you keep sending up praise, you keep singing, “God is good all the time,” that cloud can only hold so much before the blessings come bursting back down.

When you stay full of praise, God’s blessing will begin raining down, making sure that you are always in blossom; causing you to bloom where you’re currently planted, even if you’re in a dry spell!

Cast Your Cares

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Today's Scripture

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (I Peter 5:7).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God cares so much about you today. Not only does He love and care about you, He cares about the things that concern you as well. If you have concerns, worry or anxiety about something in your life today; finances, relationships, your job or anything else, know that your Heavenly Father already has a plan to take care of those things for you.

It’s a good plan, and He wants to show Himself strong on your behalf. The scripture reminds us that the lilies of the field and the birds of the air are cared for, how much more will your Heavenly Father take care of you? Make the decision today to cast all of your anxiety on Him by choosing to trust that He is going to take care of you. Refuse to dwell on your problems and don’t allow them to steal your peace and joy any longer.

Instead, choose to meditate on His Word and confess God’s promises over your life. As you cast your cares on Him, you’ll experience His peace and joy, and you will live the life of blessing He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for caring for me. I choose today to cast my cares on You and trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I bless and magnify You today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

You Are An Example

Saturday, July 19, 2008

Today's Scripture

"Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

You are God's representative in this earth. When you follow the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are letting your light shine. When you are good to people and show them kindness, even when they don't deserve it, you are shining your light. When you smile and keep a good attitude, even when things don't go your way, you are setting an example so that people will glorify God in heaven.

Notice this scripture says, "they will see your good works..." People aren't impressed by our knowledge or what we say, people are drawn to God by our good works. Ask the Lord to show you ways to share His goodness with others. Look for opportunities to let your light shine everywhere you go - at home, at work, in the grocery store, at the gym. There's always an opportunity to be an example of God's goodness.

As you do, it will bring honor and glory to God; and when you honor Him, He always honors you. He will continue to pour out His abundant blessing in every area of your life.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for trusting me to be Your representative in the earth. Show me ways to reflect Your goodness to others. Use me today everywhere I go for Your glory. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Integrity Is Better Than Gold

Friday, July 18, 2008

"As for you, walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws." -1 Kings 9:4

Integrity is mentioned some 40 times in the Bible, and a study of the several different words which are all translated into English using our word integrity shows that integrity refers to being upright in heart, honest in your actions, committed to doing right regardless of the cost.

While there are dozens of biblical characters whose lives reveal a lack of integrity, there are three individuals whom the Bible describes as men of integrity—Job and David in the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ.

Job, of course, was the one who struggled with his health and the issue of integrity in relationship to being rewarded by God. Four different passages in the book of Job talk about his integrity. The first was God’s recognition of Job as a man of integrity. “Have you considered my servant Job?” God asked Satan, adding, “There is none like him on earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil. And still he holds fast to his integrity” (Job 2:2-3, NKJV).

When Job’s world began to collapse as the result of the trials which came from Satan, Job’s wife urged him to give up his integrity—which she thought would probably result in God’s striking him dead, thus ending his problems. “Are you still holding on to your integrity?” she asked, quickly adding, “Curse God and die” (Job 2:9). How did Job respond? “Till I die, I will not deny my integrity” (Job 27:5) he answers his detractors.

The second, whose integrity was recognized by both friends and enemies, was David, the shepherd of Israel. “As for me,” said David, “I will walk in my integrity” (Psalm 26:11, NKJV). He did, too. While Job’s life teaches that integrity is something which you can hold or keep, David’s life teaches that a man can fail and yet regain his integrity. David’s life, of course, was far from perfect.

Michael Josephson says, “We judge ourselves by our best intentions, but we are judged by our worst act.” That was true of David, whose affair with Bathsheba was a moral lapse which history will never forget. Yet David was repentant and remorseful—which reflected his true integrity.

Psalm 78:72—a beautiful passage—says, “And David shepherded them [meaning Israel] with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” David’s lesson is that people of integrity know when they have chosen wrong and are quick to confess it and forsake it.

The third who is recognized as a man of character was Jesus Christ. But what makes this significant is that it was not His disciples, His followers, who talked about his integrity, but His enemies, the Pharisees, who constantly sought to discredit Jesus. “They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians,” says Matthew. “’Teacher,’ they said, ‘we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accord with the truth. You aren’t swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are’” (Matthew 22:16).

And from an unlikely source, the enemy of Jesus, comes a third truth about individuals who have integrity: they are not driven by public opinion. They don’t play the grandstand or cater to the highest bidder.

Integrity is based on the conviction that there is both a right and a wrong, and that the gray area wherein people are comfortable doing what makes them feel good is a wishy-washy no-man’s-land of moral decay.

The writer of Proverbs was right when he wrote, “Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool” (Proverbs 19:1,NKJV). It is still true. While integrity may be in short supply, it is still what makes men trustworthy and women safe. That’s a fact.

Thriving NOT Surviving!

By: Joel Osteen

You're not a survivor. You are more than a conqueror.

It's easy to get into a survival mode. When times get tough and things aren't going our way, it's tempting to just settle where we are, not believe for increase and not believe to go any further. It's tempting to think, "If I can just hold on. If I can just make it through another year."

If we're not careful, we'll develop a survival mentality to where we're not releasing our faith. We're not believing to rise any higher. We're just hoping to maintain. We'd be satisfied if we could just break even. But we're not supposed to break even. We're supposed to break through to a new level, to more of God's favor, increase and promotion.

God says in the book of Jeremiah that if we'll keep the Lord as our trust and confidence, God will prosper us even in the desert. He'll prosper us even in difficult times. That means when others are going under God says you'll go over!

God can prosper us even in the desert if we'll just be bold enough to believe. You were created to thrive in life! Won't you believe that for your life today?

Rest For Your Soul

Today's Scripture

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God wants to give you rest. He wants to refresh and restore your soul, which is your mind, will and emotions. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, and before long, your mind, will and emotions are so “spun up” that you can barely think straight!

But even among the hustle of life, you can find rest, ease and relaxation. God wants you to enjoy your life. That’s why He tells us to come to Him. When you understand that God wants to take care of everything that concerns you, you will be able to find rest. Imagine that someone came up to you today and said, “Give me all your monthly bills, I’m going to pay them.” You’d get pretty excited, wouldn’t you? But it wouldn’t happen until you did your part to give that person your bills.

They couldn’t pay them for you if you never release them. In the same way, when we release our cares and concerns to God, He promises to take care of them. Choose today to release your cares to the Lord. As you do, you’ll find that rest that He promises, and you’ll live the abundant life He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, today I humbly come to you. I choose to cast my cares on You so that I can live in Your rest. Thank You for Your goodness to me. Help me find ways to share Your goodness with those around me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Strong On Your Behalf

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

Today's Scripture

"The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal toward Him" (II Chronicles 16:9).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf! He's looking for hearts that are faithful to Him. He wants to amaze you with His goodness, and make you an example of His faithfulness—especially when everything around you seems difficult.

It's not much of a stretch to believe for blessing and promotion when everyone is being blessed. When everything is going great around you, it's easy for people to look at your life and say, "Oh, that's just because the economy is strong and we live in a land of abundance." But when things don't look so good and you prosper anyway, that's a greater testimony to the world. People will know that it makes a difference to serve the Most High God! Keep your heart turned toward God and expect increase even if things look difficult.

Remember, God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf. He is building a testimony in you. He wants to pour out His abundant blessing and fulfill every dream and desire in your heart to His glory!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for Your goodness and desire to show Yourself strong on my behalf. I invite You to work in my life. Keep my heart and mind close to You always. I bless Your Holy Name. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

God Meets Your Needs

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Today's Scripture

"God will supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Aren't you glad we serve a God who promises to supply all our needs! When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and follow His commands, you have access to God and everything He is; peace, provision, protection and more.

That means no matter what is happening in the world today, as you obey God's Word, your needs will be met. No matter what is going on with the economy, gas prices, or housing market, God is still your Source; and if your Source is okay, then you are okay, too. Rest assured there is no lack in heaven. Not only is God able to meet your needs, He wants to meet your needs. It gives Him great pleasure to bless and prosper you.

Begin to expect that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Look for His hand of provision in your life and praise Him for His faithfulness. As you do your part, God will do His part. He will open the windows of heaven and pour out His abundant blessing on every area of your life.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for Your provision in my life. Thank You for loving me and guiding me. I trust that You are meeting every one of my needs today. Help me to follow Your commands that I may honor You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

How to Improve Any Relationship in Your Life

Monday, July 14, 2008

Today's Scripture

"In humility consider others better than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

You can improve your relationship with anyone, a child, neighbor or even your boss! It starts with creating an atmosphere of peace in your relationships. Sometimes we feel we just can't get along with certain people.

But God puts us with people who are different from us on purpose. They have a lot to give us if we'll just seek to understand them. We have to focus on meeting their needs, filling their "emotional tank," instead of just looking for what they can do for us. If you do these things, your life will be much richer. You'll resolve conflict quicker. You'll be able to more easily overlook each other's faults and be more forgiving. You'll be content and satisfied in life.

And don't worry, God hasn't forgotten about your own needs. Because God is faithful, He will pour out His favor and abundance into your own life even while you are focused on blessing others!

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You for giving me my family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and all of the people You have put in my life. Help me to appreciate each one as a unique person with something valuable to teach me and share with me. Help me to learn from them, and make it a priority to do whatever I can to meet their needs. Thank You for Your promise that as I focus on others, I will also be blessed and grow in my relationship with them and with You. In Jesus' Name – Amen.

What is the Purpose of Your Life?

Thursday, July 10, 2008

Rick Warren (Remember he wrote, “PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE”).

You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having “wealth” from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, “Purpose Driven Life ” author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:

People ask me, What is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.

One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body– but not the end of me.

I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.

We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn’t going to make sense.

Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you’re just coming out of one, or you’re getting ready to go into another one.

The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort.

God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that’s not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.

This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.

I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don’t believe that anymore.

Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it’s kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.

No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.

And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.

You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems.

If you focus on your problems, you’re going into self-centeredness, “which is my problem, my issues, my pain.” But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her.

It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.

Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.

It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don’t think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.

So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72

First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases.

Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.

Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.

Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?

Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God’s purposes (for my life)?

When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don’t get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn’t put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He’s more interested in what I am than what I do.

That’s why we’re called human beings, not human doings.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.

Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.

Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.

Painful moments, TRUST GOD.

Every moment, THANK GOD.

All of a Sudden

Today's Scripture

"Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him." (Matthew 20:34)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

No matter how discouraged or down you are, God can change your heart, mind and body in a split second.

In Matthew 20, Jesus healed two blind men right on the spot, and they walked away completely changed forever. In order to experience this amazing and life-changing turnaround, you may have to take a chance. Nothing is gained without risk or going out on a limb a little bit. You may look at the obstacles or the potholes, but God sees victory.

In just a moment, you can see things the way God sees them, which means you'll see the path to victory, not defeat. God rewards you when you step out in faith, not when you stay where you are out of fear.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You for seeing victory where I see defeat. Give me the eyes to see things the way You see them. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thriving Every Day!

Today's Scripture

"...I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance, to the full, till it overflows" (John 10:10 AMP).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God doesn't want you to live with a "barely-get-by" attitude. He has new seasons of increase in front of you. He wants you to thrive, to live an abundant, overflowing life. Sometimes when things seem difficult, it's easy to slip into a "survival mode."

When times get tough, it's tempting to just hunker down and settle where you are. If you're not careful, you'll develop a survival mentality that will keep you from growing and releasing your faith. You'll be happy just to "break even." But as God's children, we're not supposed to just break even; we're supposed to break through to a new level! We're supposed to believe for more of God's favor, increase, and promotion no matter what is happening in the world around us.

Make up your mind today that no matter how difficult things seem, you are going to thrive every day! Take hold of God's promises and declare that you are rising higher. As you continue to expect His favor and increase, you'll see His hand of blessing in your life, and you will thrive and live in victory all the days of your life.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for giving me life. I choose today to agree with Your Word which says I can thrive and enjoy my life to the full. Help me see Your hand at work more and more each day. I bless You and give You praise. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

"You have been set free from sin..." (Romans 6:18).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Today we celebrate Independence Day in America. July 4, 1776 was the day America declared independence from Britain, but the battle for freedom went on until 1783—seven years later. Even though they declared their freedom in 1776, they had to stand and fight for many years before the British would accept and recognize the United States of America.

In the same way, we have to be determined to stand against the opposing forces in our lives. We have to declare our freedom from addiction, poverty, sickness and lack. We have to stand and fight until we fully experience that freedom and peace that God has promised. I love what the early colonists did once they signed the Declaration of Independence. They read it out loud in public. They published it in the newspaper. They spread the word. They continued to declare and celebrate even though they were in the midst of the battle.

Whatever battle you may be facing today, declare that you are free. Declare that you are an overcomer. Celebrate the victory that is on its way! As you stand strong and declare your freedom, you will experience His victory and you will live in true freedom all the days of your life!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for setting me free in every area of my life. I declare today that nothing can hold me back. I declare that I am free from sickness, poverty, lack and addiction. I declare that You have set me free and thank You for freedom in every area of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Serve God Alone!

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Today's Scripture

“We must worship God, and him alone” Luke 4:8 (TLB).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

The Christian life promises excitement and absolute fun! But if you are straying from God's path, you may become frustrated and dismayed. Through our belief in Jesus Christ, we are privileged to see things that literally defy any explanation - except God!

God keeps us on our toes, because He is too powerful and omniscient to be put in a nice little box and explained. When you worship and serve God alone, you can experience His astounding wonders. God's supernatural ways may bewilder and mystify us, but don't be afraid to simply recognize the hand of God in your midst.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You for moving in ways that no one else can. Give me the faith to confess, “Only God can do that!” when I see one of Your miracles. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Slow Down & Enjoy the Journey

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

Today's Scripture

"This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Everyone wants to live joyful and victorious lives. That's what God wants for you, too, and He knows the best way to get you there. But He also wants you to enjoy the trip! Here are two things to remember today that will help you slow down and enjoy this day God has given you.

First, God is in control! He is directing your steps according to His plan. Second, God has your best interest in mind at all times. That means His plan for you is good, one that is designed to help you be the person He created you to be.

So relax and enjoy the journey! Let God take you where He wants you to be in His timing, not yours. Remember, God is never late!

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You that You have my best in mind. Give me patience as I wait upon Your timing and make the journey one step at a time. In Jesus' name. Amen.
