Victory Through God

Today's Scripture

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

No matter what challenges you may be facing today—at work, home, in your health or in your relationships, God promises that even in the middle of “all these things”, you can have victory.

How? Victory starts in your heart and mind. Victory starts with peace that passes understanding. That means that you can have peace when it doesn’t make sense to have peace.

When the rest of the world is full of anxiety and worry, you can live in peace.

Victory “amid all these things” also means that you can have joy deep down in your soul. You can have so much joy that you can’t even explain why you have it! It’s supernatural. It’s joy unspeakable and full of His glory and power. When you begin to dwell on God’s promise of victory, something will change on the inside of you.

You may have felt like you were losing ground five minutes ago, but right now you can take hold of the victory He’s promised. Open your heart to Him and receive the joy and peace He longs to give you. Remember, the joy of the Lord is your strength, and as you embrace His joy, you’ll be empowered to rise above your challenges so you can move forward into the victory He has for you!

God is Waiting in the Midst of the Storm

He is Waiting in the Midst of the Storm

by Max Lucado

Peter knows he is in trouble.

The winds roar down onto the Sea of Galilee like a hawk on a rat. Lightning zigzags across the black sky. The clouds vibrate with thunder. The rain taps, then pops, then slaps against the deck of the boat until everyone aboard is soaked and shaking. Ten-foot waves pick them up and slam them down again with bonejarring force.

These drenched men don’t look like a team of apostles who are only a decade away from changing the world. And you can be sure of one thing. The one with the widest eyes is the one with the biggest biceps—Peter. He’s seen these storms before. He’s seen the wreckage and bloated bodies float to shore. He knows what the fury of wind and wave can do. And he knows that times like this are not times to make a name for yourself; they’re times to get some help.
That is why, when he sees Jesus walking on the water toward the boat, he is the first to say, “Lord, if it’s you … tell me to come to you on the water.” (Matthew 14:28)

He is aware of two facts: He’s going down, and Jesus is staying up. And it doesn’t take him too long to decide where he would rather be.

Perhaps a better interpretation of his request would be, “Jeeeeeeeesus. If that is you, then get me out of here!”

“Come on” is the invitation.

And Peter doesn’t have to be told twice. It’s not every day that you walk on water through waves that are taller than you are. But when faced with the alternative of sure death or possible life, Peter knows which one he wants.

The first few steps go well. But a few strides out onto the water, and he forgets to look to the One who got him there in the first place, and down he plunges.

Peter’s response may lack class—it probably wouldn’t get him on the cover of Gentleman’s Quarterly or even Sports Illustrated—but it gets him out of some deep water:“Help me!”
And since Peter would rather swallow pride than water, a hand comes through the rain and pulls him up.

The message is clear.

As long as Jesus is one of many options, he is no option. As long as you can carry your burdens alone, you don’t need a burden bearer. As long as your situation brings you no grief, you will receive no comfort. And as long as you can take him or leave him, you might as well leave him, because he won’t be taken half-heartedly.

But when you mourn, when you get to the point of sorrow for your sins, when you admit that you have no other option but to cast all your cares on him, and when there is truly no other name that you can call, then cast all your cares on him, for he is waiting in the midst of the storm.

Detoxing Your Mind

Monday, September 22, 2008

Today's Scripture

“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23 AMP).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

When something is toxic, it’s poisonous; it can destroy you. When we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can’t do or how we’ll never get ahead, those thoughts are toxic thoughts.

Toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste that sinks into your heart. It will eventually contaminate your whole life. It affects your self-image. It affects your attitude, your level of confidence, and ultimately, your success. That’s why the scripture says to guard your heart because the condition of your heart and mind determine the condition of your whole life.

Make the decision today to detox any negative, self-defeating thoughts by meditating on God’s promises instead. Make the decision to detox bitterness, detox low self-esteem, detox negative words that may have been spoken over you, detox condemnation. Make the decision to dwell on what God says about you.

God says, “You are forgiven.” God says, “Your best days are in front of you.” God says, “I’ll restore the years that the enemy has stolen.” As you detox your mind and fill your thoughts with His promises, you’ll see His hand of blessing on your life. You’ll rise up higher, and you’ll live the abundant life He has for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, I invite You to purify my heart and mind by Your Spirit today. Wash me with the Word as I meditate on Your wonderful promises. Help me keep my mind focused on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Set Your Hope to GOD

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Today's Scripture

“Set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed” (I Peter 1:13).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Is your hope set on God’s divine favor in your life today? One translation of this verse says, “Look forward to more and more of God’s favor.” That’s God’s dream—to pour out His goodness and grace upon you. He wants to help you get ahead in this life. He wants to lead you to the right job. He wants to lead you to the right relationship.

But here’s the key: we have to be on the lookout for more of God’s favor. That tells me that we can’t get stagnant. Don’t ever think that you can’t rise any higher. God wants to do more than you can even ask or think. It says in Ephesians, He wants to show us the immeasurable, limitless, surpassing greatness of His free favor.

In other words, God wants to go far and above what we’re used to! He wants to show you favor in unusual and extraordinary ways. Set your hopes higher today. Increase your expectations of what God will do in your life. As you open your heart and mind to His unlimited favor, you will experience the abundance He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for your increase in every area of my life today. I choose to set my hope in You knowing that You want to do more in my life than I can ever imagine. Teach me to be a vessel used by You today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DO NOT JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER

James Parmis Ministries -> http://www.JamesParmis.com

My tire had a staple in it. Of all times for this to happen -- a flat tire. But when is a good time for a flat tire? Not when you are wearing a suit and you have been traveling for nearly five hours and, adding to this bleak picture, nightfall is approaching.

Wait; did I mention that I was on a country road? Okay, now you have the picture. There was only one thing to do: call AAA. Yeah, right. The cell phone I bought for security and protection in moments like this isn't in range to call anyone. "No Service" it says. No kidding!

I sat for a few minutes moaning and complaining. It's a male thing. Then I began emptying my trunk so that I could get at the tire and tools needed to get the job done. I carry a large plastic container filled with what I call "just-in-case-stuff." When I am training or speaking, I love to have props with me. I hate leaving anything home so I bring everything ...just in case.

Cars buzz by me. A few beep sarcastically. I hear the horn saying "ha ha!" I say, "You'll get yours!" Darkness begins to settle in. It's becoming a bit difficult to see. The tire is on the passenger side, thank God, away from all the traffic, but making it difficult to benefit from the headlights of passing cars.

Suddenly a car pulls off the road behind me. In the blinding light I see a male figure approaching me. "Hey, do you need any help?" "Well, it certainly isn't easy doing this with a white dress shirt and suit on," I said. Then he steps into the light. I literally was frightened.

This young guy was dressed in black. Nearly everything imaginable was pierced and tattooed. His hair was cropped and poorly cut. He had leather bracelets with spikes on each wrist. "How about I give you a hand?" he said. "Well, I don't know . . . I think I can . . . " "Come on, it will only take me a few minutes." He took right over. While watching him I happened to look back at his car and noticed for the first time someone sitting in the passenger seat. That concerned me.

I suddenly felt outnumbered. Thoughts of car-jackings and robberies flashed through my mind. I really just wanted to get this over and survive it.

Then, without warning, it began to pour. The night sky had hidden the approaching clouds. It hit like a waterfall and made it impossible to finish the tire change. "Look, my friend, just stop what you're doing. I appreciate all your help. You better get going. I'll finish after the rain stops," I said.

"Let me help you put your stuff back in the trunk. It will get ruined," he insisted. "Then get in my car. We'll wait with you," he insisted. "No, really. I'll take care of everything," I said.

"You can't get in your car with the jack up like that. It will fall. Come on. Get in," he said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the car. Crack! Boom! Lightning and thunder roared like a freight train. I literally jumped in his car. "Oh, God, protect me!" I thought to myself.

Wet and tired I settled into the back seat. Suddenly a small frail voice came from the front seat of the car. "Are you all right?" she said as she turned around to face me. "Yes, I am," I replied with much relief seeing the old woman there. It must be his Mom.

"My name is Beatrice and this is my neighbor Jeff," she said. "He insisted on stopping when he saw you struggling with the tire." "I am grateful for his help," I said. "Me, too!" she said with a laugh. "Jeff takes me to visit my husband. We had to place him in a nursing home and it's about 30 minutes away from where we live. So, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we have a date." She laughed and shook her head.

"We're the remake of the Odd Couple," Jeff said as he joined in laughing."

"Jeff, that's incredible what you do for her. I would never have guessed, well, ah, you know I . . ." I stumbled with the words.

"I know. People who look like me don't do nice things," he said. Silence. I really felt uncomfortable. I never believed that I judged people by the way they dressed. I was angry with myself for being so stupid.

"Jeff is a great kid. I'm not the only one he helps. He's a volunteer at our church. He also works with the kids in the learning center at the low income housing unit in our town," said Beatrice.

"I'm a tutor" Jeff said quietly as he stared at my car. Silence again played a part now in a moment of reflection rather than the uncomfortable feeling that I had insulted someone. He was right. What he wore on the outside was a reflection of the world as he saw it. What he wore on the inside was the spirit of giving, caring and loving the world he wanted to see.

The rain stopped and Jeff and I changed the tire. I tried to offer him money and of course he refused it. As we shook hands I began to apologize for my stupidity.

He said, "I experience that same reaction often. I actually thought about changing the way I look. But then I saw this as an opportunity to make a point. So I'll leave you with the same question I ask everyone who takes time to know me. If Jesus returned tomorrow and walked among us again, would you recognize Him by what He wore or by what He did?

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart'."

God Has Nothing To Do With Our Poverty!

By: Bo Sanchez

“Bo, you’re wrong. Poverty is a matter of fate…”

He came up to me right after I gave a talk on financial literacy. The man spoke to me with the gravity of a Supreme Court Justice, it scared me.

“Why do you say that, sir?” I asked.

“Because there are people who are born poor,” the man said, “And there are people who are born rich. That’s destiny. That’s the will of God.”

I winced. How could I tell him that I’ve been working for years (no, decades) with the poor—and this was the exact kind of distorted thinking that has trapped a lot of people in poverty. “God made me poor,” is an invisible placard written on the foreheads of many poor people I’ve met.

I told him, “To be born rich or poor is not a choice, that’s true. But to become rich or poor—that’s a choice that God leaves up to us.”

He looked at me as though I spoke in Swahili.

I wanted to explain myself but he wanted to ask me a very disturbing question…

God Leaves The Choice To Us Whether To Be Rich Or Poor

“Bo, why are you teaching us to become rich?”

His tone of voice was sharp. Like he was asking me, “Why are you teaching us to murder people, burn their bodies, and eat their liver?”

He continued, “If you’re really a Christian, you should teach us to be content with where we are. Bo, aren’t you content with where you are?”

I laughed. “Oh, I’m very content.”

I never told this to him, but I’d like to tell you: Right now, if I choose to, I can stop working, deposit my money in a bank—and live on the interest. Sure, I have to simplify my lifestyle even further, but we’ll still be very comfortable.

With the interest I’ll earn from the bank, I can maintain my small house and simple car.
And yes, I can still bring out my wife for our weekly romantic dates.

And I can still bring my kids for our twice-a-year vacations. No more Macau trips, that’s for sure. But Tagaytay would be just fine.

I can even pay for our homeowner’s association dues. (A whopping P120 a month! Yes, I live in a happy third class subdivision.)

But if I stop working and live on my interest, a few things will have to change…

Life Isn’t Just About You

Today, I send a number of poor children to school. That has to stop.
Today, I finance a few missionaries. That has to stop.
Today, I provide capital for livelihood projects for the poor. That has to stop.
Today, I finance my new ministry projects in its trial period. That has to stop.
This is the reason why I’ve chosen to grow, to expand, to increase, and to become richer because I want to bless the world more.

That’s why I work very hard today!

Here’s what I learned:

(1) To be content and

(2) to want to grow can co-exist in your heart.

Jesus Will Deliver You

Monday, September 15, 2008

Today's Scripture

“Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall honor and glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Are you facing trouble in any area of your life today? God is standing ready to deliver you. He promises in His Word that He is near to all those who call upon His name. No matter what you may be going through, have confidence knowing that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He promises to deliver you!

Notice that this verse tells us that our part is to honor and glorify Him. You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to give Him praise. You can give Him honor and glory right now. You can thank Him for all He’s done in your life so far, and what He will do in your future. Call on Him today and focus on having an attitude of faith and expectancy.

Speak His Word and declare His promises over your life, knowing that He promises to deliver you. Trust in Him because He will take you places you’ve never dreamed. As you praise Him, He’ll take you higher and higher into the life of victory He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, today I call upon Your Name. I call upon You as my Salvation and my Deliverer. I trust that You are working on my behalf and choose to give You all the honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name.

God Can Do The Impossible

He Can Do The Impossible

by Max Lucado

The kingdom of heaven. Its citizens are drunk on wonder.

Consider the case of Sarai. She is in her golden years, but God promises her a son. She gets excited. She visits the maternity shop and buys a few dresses. She plans her shower and remodels her tent … but no son. She eats a few birthday cakes and blows out a lot of candles … still no son. She goes through a decade of wall calendars … still no son.

So Sarai decides to take matters into her own hands. (“Maybe God needs me to take care of this one.”)

She convinces Abram that time is running out. (“Face it, Abe, you ain’t getting any younger, either.”) She commands her maid, Hagar, to go into Abram’s tent and see if he needs anything. (“And I mean ‘anything’!”) Hagar goes in a maid. She comes out a mom. And the problems begin.
Hagar is haughty. Sarai is jealous. Abram is dizzy from the dilemma. And God calls the baby boy a “wild donkey”—an appropriate name for one born out of stubbornness and destined to kick his way into history.

It isn’t the cozy family Sarai expected. And it isn’t a topic Abram and Sarai bring up very often at dinner.

Finally, fourteen years later, when Abram is pushing a century of years and Sarai ninety … when Abram has stopped listening to Sarai’s advice, and Sarai has stopped giving it … when the wallpaper in the nursery is faded and the baby furniture is several seasons out of date … when the topic of the promised child brings sighs and tears and long looks into a silent sky … God pays them a visit and tells them they had better select a name for their new son.

Abram and Sarai have the same response: laughter. They laugh partly because it is too good to happen and partly because it might. They laugh because they have given up hope, and hope born anew is always funny before it is real.

They laugh at the lunacy of it all.

They laugh because that is what you do when someone says he can do the impossible. They laugh a little at God, and a lot with God—for God is laughing, too. Then, with the smile still on his face, he gets busy doing what he does best—the unbelievable.

He changes a few things—beginning with their names. Abram, the father of one, will now be Abraham, the father of a multitude. Sarai, the barren one, will now be Sarah, the mother.
But their names aren’t the only things God changes. He changes their minds. He changes their faith. He changes the number of their tax deductions. He changes the way they define the word impossible.

From Poverty To Riches

Elevated From the Pasture

2 Samuel 7:8 Now then, tell my servant David, "This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over My people Israel."

Have you ever heard someone say, "He is a self-made millionaire"? They are stating that this person accomplished everything through his own efforts. His achievements were a result of his hard work and street smarts.

David was nearing the end of his life. The prophet Nathan was responding to David's idea to build a temple where the Ark of the Covenant would stay. God reminded David of his roots and where He had brought him. God took David from the fields of pasturing sheep to pastoring a nation. God reminded David that He cut off all of David's enemies. (David never lost a battle.)

Have you ever felt tempted to look at your accomplishments with pride as if you were the reason for your success? Have you ever thought your prosperity was due to your ingenuity? Has your material success been a testimony to others that God is the ruler of all aspects of your life, even the material side?

Joseph's greatest test was not his temptation to be bitter against his brothers. It wasn't the sexual temptation that came inside Potiphar's house. It wasn't even the discouragement of years of imprisonment for being wrongfully accused. It was the temptation of prosperity and ownership. Once he was elevated, he was given choices that he never had before. It was totally up to him as to which choice he would make. Stewardship reveals what we believe about God and ourselves.

Not every man can carry a full cup. Sudden elevation frequently leads to pride and a fall. The most exacting test of all to survive is prosperity.-Oswald Chambers

Do you have a proper understanding of who you are?

Do you understand that it is God who has given you the ability to work and achieve?

He is the source of all good things. Ask God today if your life models this belief.

Imitators of God

Friday, September 12, 2008

Today's Scripture

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

When people look at you, do they see your family resemblance? Perhaps in the natural, you have characteristics of your father or mother; maybe you have their eyes, or mouth or mannerisms.

But we should also have the characteristics of our heavenly Father. We should display His likeness. We should have His eyes, His mouth and His mannerisms, too. We should study Him and imitate Him with the same awe that little children do as they imitate their earthly fathers.

The Bible tells us that God is love. We are never more like God than when we are walking in love—when we are being patient and kind; when we are extending grace and mercy and forgiving others the way Christ has forgiven us. When you imitate God, when you do things His way, you get His results!

And God’s ways always lead to life, freedom and blessing. The more you imitate your heavenly Father by walking in love, the more you will see Him moving in your life. He’ll open doors for you that no man can close, and you’ll see His hand of blessing in every area of your life!

What Makes YOU Blind?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a Gift

Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

Why You Should Rethink Masturbation?

Why You Should Rethink Masturbation?
By: Prisca

OK, I hope you guys are ready because we are really gonna "go there" today.

It's 2:19am here in Nash'vegas (Nashville, TN) and I would love nothing more than to GO TO BED, but something that I have tried to keep in the forefront of my mind this year is that peace should be my guide. So, since I am not at peace about turning in without penning this blog entry, I take it that it must be done.

Now, I will say this: While I welcome EVERYONE to read "Butterflies", when I came on to the XXXChurch scene, it was because they wanted to female voice geared towards the ladies and so while both genders are sexual beings (and yes, God made it that way, but we'll have to get to that at another time), what I am about to say on the topic of masturbation is strictly coming from a "woman's personal experience" perspective. I know that in many ways we are wired differently from the guys and so I just wanted to put that disclaimer out there.

Whew. OK...

As a single, attractive woman who when I was sexually active really enjoyed it, masturbation has been a struggle for a lot of my adult life. I even recall who got me into it. It was a man who never laid a finger on me (which goes to show you why you have to be careful of not only who touches you, but who speaks into your life as well). He was a professor in college and while I am not sure how he even ended up discussing the issue with a table of students while we were at dinner, he said something to me that changed my life---especially my sex life.

After hearing me say that I was sexually active (with my first and only at the time), but not getting what all of the hype was about, he said, "You've never had an orgasm? Have you ever masturbated? No? Well, that's your problem. How can you expect someone to please you when you can't even please yourself?"

I didn't have an answer for that, but let me say something right here: When God said that a man should leave his father and mother, unite with his wife, become one flesh and be naked and not ashamed (Genesis 2:24-25), this introduces us to the purpose of sex. Sex is not meant for you and your boyfriend, you and your fiance', you and your "homie-lover-friend", or even you and yourself. SEX IS MADE FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND (or if you are a guy eavesdropping on this conversation, you and your wife). Anytime you settle for less than this, it's counterfeit and problematic.

But, like I said, I didn't know this at the time and I have the tendency to be pretty hard-headed so it took several men, four abortions, a sex addiction and several bouts of depression to come to this revelation...and during this time, I developed a huge dependency on masturbation.

Like the devil, my teacher had some truth in what he said. I had no clue on what pleasing Shellie was actually like and so when I mastered "physical fireworks" for the first time, it was like a whole new world to me! After months of watching movies to fake the sounds that chicks make during sex scenes, the green light was coming on and from where I sat, it was full speed ahead. But remember, sex with anyone or anything that is not your covenant partner is not God's best for you and so what first felt like a heart's desire ended up being a sexual addiction.

Lust masked as love making can be weird like that. I figured being sexually satisfied would actually bring me and my partner closer together, but it actually aided in tearing us even more apart. What he couldn't do for me, I discovered I could do for myself---and I did, often...even after he wasn't an issue anymore. At first, being close to him was what mattered most, but it wasn't long before the climax became my fix and I was hooked. Him or not, I was gonna get that fix.

Now, this is a blog and not a book and so I am not going to get into ALL of the reasons why I think you should rethink masturbation as your "tide me over" (which I know a lot of you reading this believes it should be). Tonight, I actually want to touch on just one aspect.Ladies, now you know we can conjure up some pretty insane things in our minds.

As one of my male friends says, "Women have the tendency to write, produce, direct and star in dramas all by themselves" and he's right. When it comes to what we need for sexual stimulation, this truth also applies. There are studies to show that sex---especially fulfilling sex---starts in the mind (another reason why we have to watch who speaks to us). But what happens when there is no one talking to us?

According to About.com (the marriage section), a Kinsey report states that 40% of men and 30% of women in relationships maturbate. A study in Playboy states that 72% of married men masturbate and a Redbook article claims that 68% of married women masturbate. Another statistical analysis reports that 90% of the total male population masturbates and 65% of the total female population follows suit.

So that means that a whole lot of us are caught up in this activity. I have read articles, even in Christian magazines, that seem to imply that it's OK, but like I said, I believe that sex is meant for two people and I am only here to address one theory.

Because sex starts in the mind, this would lead me to believe that no woman can enjoy masturbation without thinking about something. I will give the 30-68% of women in relationships the benefit of the doubt and assume that they're fantasizing about their boyfriends and husbands (although if you have access to them, I am not so sure why you would not use that to your advantage). But, what about the rest of us? If 65% of women masturbate and that includes single gals, what and who are we thinking about? Our ex? Our co-worker? Someone's husband? Matthew McConaughey? Idris Elba? A porn star? Our pastor?

Whatever the case may be, if you are really honest with yourself, it probably ain't just you and how cute you are running through your mind at those times, and if that's the case, you are enjoying the thoughts of being involved with a man who isn't yours.

Proverbs 23:7 says that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. I am getting really vulnerable with you right now, but I have been in deep, intimate relationships with men whom I have never shared a single, tangible, sexual encounter with. Because they were on my mind "during the act", it started psychologically bonding me to them.

For every climax I had, because "he" was the focus, I started returning to him for the next "hit" and soon, there we were: having a sexual relationship without him even knowing it. And now, here I am sexually bound to someone all because of the mental fantasies and vain imaginations that I chose not to control.

Let me tell you from personal experience, this habit is just as hard to break as the physical encounters I've had, if not more because (hello) fantasies are not real and so the lovers of my mind were able to do things for and to me that no "real man" ever had. The mental detox that one has to go through to break this kind of stronghold is more than you could even begin to imagine (if you don't believe me, try it sometime).

I could go on and on, but peace is settling in and so I will conclude with this. I KNOW THE WALK TOWARDS SEXUAL PURITY IS ROUGH. I didn't write this to make you feel guilty (there's no condemnation in Christ, remember? Romans 8:1), but I did want you to be aware. The Enemy often provides us with just enough truth to mask the lies. "It's not as bad as actually having sex" is what he used to tell me all of the time. Sure, the consequences may not be the same (pregnancy, STDs, etc.), but there are still consequences.

Whenever God brings me, a queen, to my king, I want to give him all of me---mind, body and soul. This means that, in my single state, not giving someone my body is not enough. I must watch who receives intimate access to my mind and thoughts as well. It would be a real shame to have my future husband "compete" with a figment of my imagination. A king definitely deserves so much more than that.

Just something to think about.
