Are you seeing the goodness of God overflowing in your life today? If you´ll look with your eyes of faith, you´ll see that He´s already crowned your year with His goodness. In other words, you have been especially chosen; you are marked to receive His goodness.

And when God crowns you with His goodness, it doesn´t matter what´s going on around you. It doesn´t matter what´s happening in the economy, in the job market, or the housing market. God´s crown of favor and blessing cannot be moved. You are the head and not the tail; above only and not beneath.

Not long ago, I heard a story about a woman who had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was married with two children and was very afraid. She was doing her best to stay positive and hopeful, but it was very difficult. The doctors gave her a 15% chance of surviving. She continued to pray and believe God, and she had good friends and family supporting her.

One day, a friend gave her a small, gray rock that had the words, “Expect a Miracle” written on it. When she received that rock, something leaped on the inside of her. As she looked at it, she could feel her faith being ignited. She knew right at that moment that the message was directly for her. She believed she was going to get well.

When David was a shepherd boy, his father asked him to take lunch to his brothers out on the battlefield. When he arrived, he heard Goliath taunting and challenging the people of God. David asked the men standing around, “What is the prize for defeating this giant?”

They said, “The reward is one of the king’s daughters in marriage and no more taxes.” That got David’s attention. He knew this was a battle worth fighting.

One of the illusions that we live with is that there is always plenty of time later on, so we procrastinate, full of good intentions, thinking that we’ll do that later. Take for example the secretary who worked for many years for the Eastman Kodak Company.

She never married. Her nieces and nephews were very special to her. When Dick was struggling to get through college and seminary, she sent checks quite often. He was the son she never had, and when he went overseas as a missionary, her love and respect for him and his lovely wife only increased.

Many of the challenges that come our way in life are simply distractions to try to lure us from our destiny. Every day we have the opportunity to get upset—maybe someone is talking about you, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or a friend says something that they shouldn’t have.

When this happens, you have to ask yourself, “If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to defend myself or trying to prove that I’m right, if I win this battle, what is the prize going to be?” For example, if someone cuts you off in traffic and you

Did you know that when God spoke to Noah about building the ark, it had never even rained before? Can you imagine that?

Noah knew people were going to make fun of him or call him crazy. I’m sure he had every opportunity to talk himself out of it. He could have come up with plenty of excuses. But Noah didn’t do that. He recognized that God had asked him to do a difficult thing, and he chose obedience.

Noah didn’t run from the challenge; he chose to believe God. Noah’s obedience is what opened the door for God to supernaturally empower him to fulfill his destiny. Now he is one of the great heroes of faith.

Do you know what causes God to act on your behalf? Do you know what gets His attention? God is not moved by our needs. He’s not moved by whining or complaining. He’s not moved by a “poor me” mentality. No, God is moved by our faith in Him. We have to be determined to stand on God’s Word no matter what is going on around us.

Remember, God promises in His Word that He will fight our battles, but understand that it’s not going to happen automatically. We have to do our part. We have to dig our heels in with an attitude of faith and exercise endurance,

One day, Max, a criminal in death row was about to be executed.

          The warden was extra kind that day, so he asked him, “Max, for your last three meals, you can ask for anything you want.   What do you want for breakfast?”

          Max said, “Pancit (Local noodles). For long life.”

          The warden smiled and said, “I don’t think it will work. But here’s the pancit anyway.” Max ate with gusto.
